PRE-ORDER NOW: Johnny Cash with His Hot and Blue Guitar

180G Deluxe 45 RPM All-Analog MONO Edition!

“I never imagined that I’d hear the iconic voice of Johnny Cash on Intervention Records!” said Shane Buettner, Intervention Records’ founder. “And I don’t think music fans around the world have ever heard Johnny’s voice, or Sam Phillips’ famous Sun Studio sound, as clearly and definitively as they will on this new 45 RPM mono cut. This is as close you can get to a time machine back to Memphis in the 1950s!”

Originally issued in the fall of 1957—the first long-player for Sam Phillips’ Sun Records—Johnny Cash with His Hot and Blue Guitar! showcases the stripped-down sound that would make the future Man in Black one of the most enduring and respected musicians of the 20th century. Backed only by his “Tennessee Two” (Luther Perkins on lead guitar and Marshall Grant on upright bass) and augmented by Phillips’ signature studio slapback that gave Cash’s “boom-chicka-boom” sound its kick, Hot and Blue Guitar! is the album that introduced many to Cash’s sonorous baritone.

PRE-ORDER NOW: Dance Album of Carl Perkins!

180G Deluxe 45 RPM All-Analog MONO Edition!

70th Anniversary of Recording "Blue Suede Shoes!" Cut to Vinyl from the Original Master Tapes for the First Time in Decades!

Intervention Records is proud to announce the first vinyl release in its Intervention Sun Records Hi-Fi Series, Carl Perkins' groundbreaking rockabilly classic, 1957's "Dance Album of Carl Perkins." This December 2025 premium MONO vinyl release commemorates the 70th anniversary of Sun's Sam Phillips recording Carl Perkins' smash "Blue Suede Shoes," which was released as a single on New Year's Day 1956. "Dance Album" isn't just full of legendary songs that gave birth to rock n' roll itself; many of these tunes are now rock standards that have stood the test of time. These iconic songs have been covered by Elvis Presley, The Beatles (as a band, as well as George, Paul, and Ringo solo), Johnny Cash, and many more. As great as many of these versions are from over the decades, arguably no one ever did these tunes with more swag than Carl himself on "Dance Album!"

Friends, we have news to share from Matthew Sweet and his team:

We are heartbroken to share that our dear friend and musical icon, Matthew Sweet, suffered a severe stroke while on tour in Toronto. His journey to recovery will be long and challenging, and without insurance or touring income, Matthew now faces overwhelming medical expenses.

To help cover the costs of life-saving treatment, including an ambulance flight back to the U.S. and intensive rehabilitation, we’re reaching out to friends, fans, and the music community for support. Your donations will make a tremendous difference in his recovery. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.

With gratitude,

Shane & the Intervention Records Team
